The Netflix original show “Insatiable” received a lot of controversy when it first came out. There was even a petition for the show not to be released, many argued that the show was completely inappropriate because what it says about body image.  The show begins with Patty, an overweight teenager, who loses tons of weight over the summer as a result of having her jaw wired shut. Now that Patty is skinny she wants to get revenge on everyone who had bullied her, she decides to do this by competing in pageants. The show makes it look like as if once you lose weight your life completely changes and you now have a happy ending. While the show actually has some good parts, most of the show never really has a main idea. Insatiable tries to focus on too many issues at the same time. The show shifts from body image, to lgbt, to alcoholism, to daddy issues. All this causes a confusion on what the show is really about. The show deserves an honest rating of 5/10.
